EAR CANDLING CONES & HISTORY

What on EARTH is Ear candling?

It's an ancient medical art for cleansing the ears.  How ancient?  Possible 8000 or so years old, based on drawings on cave walls.  (We call that grafitti today!)  What did they use to do this?  Probably corn husks and beeswax, and later linen.

What does ear candling do?  It relieves ear pain, pressure and helps clean out the ear wax.  Some say it improves hearing and others say much more.   Does it work or help everyone? Probably not.

What did it do for me?  It relieved the pressure in my right ear.  Nothing else has helped and the Dr. says there is nothing wrong with my ear.  But it hurts!

Why do people turn to "old fashioned" or ancient medical arts?  Mostly because they have tried everything else, sometimes over and over and not gotten relief.

                              HOW DOES IT WORK?

A hollow cone made of fabric and wax is placed in the ear and then lit.  The cone slowly burns for about 15 minutes, then is snuffed out.  If the patient wants to see "what came out" the cone can be cut open.  The powder is from the fabric- not the ear.  Long brown hard looking wax is from the cone and beeswax.  The rest?  If it looks like ear wax, it probably is.  Sometimes it just softens the wax allowing it to drain out over the next few days.  Some times some pretty gross looking stuff comes out.

Most people say their "head feels lighter."  Mine does but I can't really figure out a way to explain it, but it is a good feeling.  Other say, "it feels good, really good."  And some say they can hear better or breathe better.  If it does nothing for you then I wouldn't pay to have it done again.  Most salons or spas that do ear candling charge a hefty fee, up to $100.00 and more.  It is easily done and having a friend to trade favors with works, so do ear candling parties.  There is one method that enables a person to candle their own ears.  Instructions come with your cone order explaining how to do both.

General Information about ear cones.

THEIR CONES:  Most cones are machine made except for the tip which is added by hand. They are about 9" long and made from muslin which comes from China.  The wax is "food grade" or parafin, which is petroleum based, sometimes soy or a mixture of any of them and sometimes with beeswax.

Most muslin is from China and is filled with "stiffners" to make the fabric look and feel good.  The cotton is grown with fertilizer and pesticides.  If you rinse it the water will be very cloudy looking from the additives.  The wax is mostly petroleum based products.  Their cones can leave chemical residue in your ears, not my ears because I won't use them.

MY CONES:  They are hand rolled, 12-13" long, made from 100% organically grown cotton - that means the cotton was grown without fertilizers or pesticides - and pure beeswax.  No additives, no scents added ever. Mine provide a longer burn time with the flame further from your head and no petroleum residue.  Yes mine cost more because the fabric and wax are more expensive.  Mine also come with instructions on how to use and safety precautions. 8 cones, 4 pair, are $30.00 which includes postage and handling.  The price is my wholesale price, so if you are a professional, you may contact me for larger amounts of cones.  If not, you are getting cones that sell easily for $15.99 in your better stores for a great price.

My cones are in the "BUY NOW" section. For retailers interested in carrying my cones, please email me Linda@Greenstuff2.com or call at 702-737-7767.
